About Brew Lyric

What it is

Brew Lyric works out how much coffee to use for your water, times a pour-over step by step, looks up tea steeping temperatures and times, adds up the day’s caffeine, and plans cold brew and espresso. Amounts are shown in grams, millilitres, US fluid ounces and cups, and temperatures in °C and °F.

Where the numbers come from

Every ratio, temperature, caffeine amount and limit on these pages is linked to its source in a short “Sources” list on the same page: the Specialty Coffee Association for brewing ratios and temperatures, the Tea Association of the USA, the UK Tea & Infusions Association and ISO 3103 for tea, USDA FoodData Central for caffeine per serving, and the FDA, ACOG and EFSA for daily caffeine guidance. Where a figure is only a common starting point rather than a standard, the page says so. The caffeine figures are general guidance, not medical advice.

How it works

The calculators run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, there are no accounts, ads or cookies, and the pages keep working offline once loaded. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or cross-site tracking and never receives what you type into the tools. The privacy page has the details.

Spotted a figure that looks wrong? Check it against the source linked on that page, which always wins.
